This reversible scarf was worked horizontally to be 13" wide, however the pattern can also be worked lengthwise with more stitches. The yarn used for this model was a gray graded wool/tussah silk blend....so lovely...very soft and comfortable and handspun.
Experience Level: Intermediate Materials: - 445 yds Fingering WeightYarn - Handspun yarn was used for model (This can be made smaller or larger depending on yarn used. Just check your gauge to alter the cast on sitches and go for it.)
- US 7 (4.5 mm needles)
Abbreviations:
BO: bind off
CO: cast on
k: knit
p: purl
k2tog: knit 2 sts together
RS: right side (only to keep track of your rows)
SK2P: slip 1 st knitwise to the right-hand needle, k2tog, pass the slipped st over the knit sts.
st(s): stitch(es)
WS: wrong side (only to keep track of your rows)
yo: yarn over (note: there are 3 yarn overs in a row to create the circle)
Pattern Stitch: (multiple of 10 + 5)Row 2 (WS): Knit across
Row 3: K2, k2tog, yo, k1, SK2P, yo(3x), k2tog, *k1, yo, SK2P, yo, k1, SK2P, yo(3x), k2tog* repeat from * to * until 5 sts from end; k1, yo, k2tog, k2.
Row 4: K7, p1, *k9, p1*, repeat from * to * until 7 sts from end; k7. (the p1 is for the middle of the three yarn overs.)
Row 5: K4, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog, *yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog*, repeat from * to* until 4 sts from the end; yo, k4.
Row 6: Knit across
Row 7: K5, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, yo, *k5, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, yo*, repeat from * to * until 5 sts from end; k5

NOTE:
Row 5 shifts the repeat one stitch to the right and row 11 shifts the repeat one stitch to the left. This is why I have not suggested using markers for this pattern.

What a very pretty scarf!!! One question though. As I was reading through the pattern, ... On row 4 did you mean to write .... P1,k6,k3,p1...?? If so why not just k9??

I started this scarf with the original pattern that was posted, and also had problems with row 4. now that you've updated, it seems that there is a problem with row 3...am I misreading the directions and the chart?

This will seem like the silly question but what is yo? I understand everything else but don't know what this means...if I am on knit and want to continue on knit how do I do yo? Thank you..Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth. Yo is a yarn over. If your yarn is behind your right needle because you're knitting, just bring the yarn to the front and over your right needle......continue knitting. You've made a stitch by making a hole in the project.

Hi - I'm having trouble with row 5 in the chart. It seems like there should be 10 stitches at the beginning of the row, then repeats of 10, then 5 stitches at the end. But in row 5, there are two ktogs and only 1 yo, leaving one with only 9 stitches in that column. Also, when I knit those first 10 stitches, I don't have enough stitches! If it goes: k4 (stitches 1-4), yo (stitch added), k2tog (stitches 5-6), k3 (stitches 7-9), then ktog (stitches 10 + ???). Does that makes sense? Same for the end of that row, when I yo (stitch added), then k4 (stitches 1-4), but that leaves stitch 5 at the end extra! What do I do? Or am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any help!
Okay - never mind. I've been using stitch markers to separate the repeats (newbie and want to be mistake free) but it seems like with row 5 everything shifts down the row one, including the markers...so the chart isn't really representative in the row, right?

What a lovely scarf pattern. I haven't tried any of these beautiful lacy scarves yet but this one has caught my eye. And, I may have the perfect yarn for it already.

To copy, just select the page and transfer to a word doc to print or paste it wherever you print from. Good luck.
Hi Lana....yo(3x) makes a big hole and you only do it on the right side, then from the wrong side you k1, p1, k1 to keep your stitches. Hope this helps.
Thanks Christina, it helps, I am making a small sample, to see how it should look. So far, not so good, may be my yarn is too bulky. The even rows where it says knit all stitches, I want to purl all of them to make it look smooth, not so knobby, if this makes any sense. Thanks, I will work it out!

In the pattern there is a pattern row with a yo (x3). Does this mean repeat the whole row x3 or do 3yo?

Bit of info on copy pattern, if you go to menu and see share if you have google drive or drop box you vacan share it direct to yr files, I've done this with two others of Christina patterns they copied over perfectly.

Regarding DK yarn....The repeat is 10 sts, so you could remove 10 or 20 depending on how wide you would like it.
This note is for everyone who is confused regarding row 5. Please note that the pattern repeat on this row shifts one stitch to the right. The pattern is written correctly and has been tested many times. I have not suggested using markers for this reason. If you are using markers you will have to move them over on row 5 and then back on row 11 when the pattern repeat is shifted back to the left.

I was searching for a lace pattern that would work on a moebius scarf and found your Circles of Infinity version. It didn’t have a chart and I got confused at the YO(3x) part. Then I looked up this one as the infinity one is based on it. Yay! The chart explained it! It’s a lovely pattern and I’ve got some gorgeous laceweight raspberry alpaca/mohair blend that’s perfect for it! THANK YOU! I’m going to swatch this bit to work out my stitch count. And then… I get to play… Couldn’t be happier!
